Export a Project as an Excel File in MS Project

  1. In MS Project, select File > Save As and select Excel spreadsheet.

    NOTE: The export wizard displays.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Click Selected Data and click Next.

  4. Select New map and click Next.

  5. Ensure that Tasks, Resources, Assignments and Export includes headers check boxes are enabled.

    NOTE: The Include assignment rows in output check box should be disabled.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Enter Task_Table  in the Destination worksheet name field.

  8. Click Insert Row to add a row for each field that should be mapped.

    NOTE: All fields are required.

  10. Click Next.

  11. Enter Resource_Table  in the Destination worksheet name field.

  12. Click Insert Row to add a row for each field that should be mapped.

    NOTE: All rows are required.

  15. Enter Assignment_Table  in the Destination worksheet name field.

  16. Click Insert Row to add a row for each field that should be mapped.

  17. Click Add All.

  18. Click Next.

  19. On the Congratulations screen, click Save Map, and save the map for further use.

  20. Click Finish to save the spreadsheet.
